As part of Geistlich’s 175th anniversary, Eduard Geistlich Platz was officially opened on September 24, 2026. It is located in what is now the amRietpark neighborhood, where Eduard Geistlich once transformed his father’s glue factory into an internationally successful company.
The dedication was part of a public anniversary celebration featuring a ceremony, a tree-planting event, live music, and numerous activities for the public. Together with representatives from the city of Schlieren, the significance of Eduard Geistlich for the development of the company and the Schlieren location was honored.
Steady Development
Geistlich’s history began in 1851 with Switzerland’s first glue factory. Over generations, the company continued to evolve and became a leading global provider of products for regenerative medicine. Research, innovation, and a long-term vision continue to shape Geistlich to this day.
The new square connects the past and the future. Where production once took place, a vibrant neighborhood with residential spaces, commercial areas, and gathering places has emerged. Eduard Geistlich Square commemorates Geistlich’s entrepreneurial roots and brings the site’s history to life for future generations.
