What has surprised you most since joining Geistlich almost half a year ago?
I was particularly impressed by the enormous expertise of the employees. Many colleagues have been with the company for 15, 20, or even 25 years, which speaks not only to a strong corporate culture, but also to extraordinary know-how. This expertise, especially in sales, is a decisive factor for success and never ceases to impress me. Our sales representatives are much more than just salespeople – they are highly specialized guides in the field of medical regeneration.
What does regeneration mean to you?
I firmly believe that the human body has an enormous potential for self-regeneration – it often just needs the right support. I am fascinated by the possibility of stimulating nature in such a targeted way that the resulting tissue is barely distinguishable from natural tissue and thus noticeably increases personal well-being. This is what Geistlich is all about.
Is there a product in the Geistlich portfolio that particularly impresses you?
The entire Geistlich portfolio is extremely exciting, but I find the development of patient-specific, computer-assisted solutions particularly fascinating. Geistlich is consistently investing in this area, most recently by acquiring a stake in ReOss GmbH in order to integrate regeneration even more closely into digital processes. Even though there is still a long way to go, the idea of tailoring biomaterials – rather than titanium, as is currently the case – so precisely that they integrate seamlessly into the body is very promising.
Do you see other trends besides digitalization?
Preventive approaches are becoming more important. So far, our industry has focused on repairing damage. The link between oral health and systemic diseases is becoming increasingly clear. I believe the next big step will be to prevent damage in the first place to avoid long-term consequences.
How do you intend to further strengthen Geistlich's position in the German market?
Geistlich is established as a premium supplier in Germany and we will continue to strengthen this position. Our materials are used by renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeons and implantologists. At the same time, I see potential in new target groups, such as dentists who may not place a high volume of implants but still place great importance on quality.
Where is Geistlich Germany today and where do you want to go?
Our products stand for the highest quality, scientific expertise, and a clear vision: to enable natural tissue regeneration at the highest level. We aim not only to inspire our existing customers, but also to reach new target groups and offer patients the best possible solutions. At the same time, it is important to me to update internal structures and clarify processes. Two things are essential to me: close cooperation within our team and an open culture. Mistakes are a gift for learning — because only those who learn can continue to grow.
Does this also characterize your management style?
For me, the focus is always on people — both externally and internally — and that is not just an empty phrase, but a conviction. Success comes from people, their commitment, their ideas, and their cooperation. My leadership style is therefore characterized by trust, openness, and continuous development. I see an open culture around mistakes and respectful interaction as essential to creating a strong, forward-looking organization.
