Warum Ridge Preservation wichtig ist

Bei Ridge Preservation geht es nicht nur darum, die Ästhetik des Lächelns eines Patienten zu erhalten. 

Es geht darum, die Grundlage für ein erfolgreiches Zahnimplantat zu schaffen. 

Ohne Ridge Preservation beginnt die Resorption des Alveolarknochens, was zum Verlust von Volumen und Dichte führt. 

Diese Knochenresorption nach einer Zahnextraktion kann künftige Implantatrestaurationen komplizieren, wobei zusätzliche Operationen zur Knochentransplantation erforderlich sind, die Behandlungsdauer verlängert wird und suboptimale Ergebnisse möglich sind.1–6

Ohne Ridge Preservation

Die Heilung von Extraktionsalveolen und die Resorptionsprozesse nach einer Zahnextraktion sind in den letzten Jahren umfassend erforscht worden. Klinische Studien haben gezeigt, dass

  • der Verlust von Alveolarvolumen nach einer Zahnextraktion stark ausgeprägt ist1-5,7,8
  • zwei Drittel der Resorption innerhalb der ersten drei Monate stattfindet1

Zu den klinischen Folgen einer Spontanheilung im Vergleich zur Ridge Preservation gehören:

  • reduzierte Fähigkeit zur Aufrechterhaltung gesunden periimplantären Weichgewebes9
  • schlechtere ästhetische Ergebnisse9
  • zehnmal häufigere Notwendigkeit einer Hartgewebeaugmentation bei der Implantatinsertion ohne vorherige Ridge Preservation6

Mit Ridge Preservation

Während eine Sofortimplantation eine Knochenresorption nicht verhindert10, kann eine Behandlung der Extraktionsalveolen mit Geistlich Biomaterials den Grossteil des Knochenverlusts kompensieren und helfen, die Kontur des Alveolarkamms zu erhalten.5,7,8,11

Klinische Studien bestätigen, dass Ridge Preservation den Verlust von Alveolarknochenvolumen wirkungsvoll begrenzt:6-9,12-15

  • verhindert Volumenverlust und führt unabhängig vom gewählten Implantationszeitpunkt zu einer verbesserten Hart- und Weichgewebesituation16
  • Auch wenn das Behandlungsziel das Einsetzen einer Brücke ist, verbessert sich das ästhetische Ergebnis durch den Erhalt von Volumen und Kontur des Alveolarkamms 17

Ridge Preservation mit Geistlich Biomaterials:
Eine vorhersagbare Lösung

Die Kieferkammbreite ist bei Verwendung von Geistlich Biomaterials vier Monate nach Zahnextraktion weitgehend erhalten und bleibt auch nach zehn Jahren stabil,18 während Spontanheilung zu einem Verlust von 50 % des Alveolarknochenvolumens innerhalb von sechs Monaten führt.7,19,20 Ohne ein langlebiges Knochenersatzmaterial kollabieren die bukkalen und labialen Weichgewebe.
