Warum Ridge Preservation wichtig ist

Bei der Ridge Preservation steht nicht allein die Erhaltung der ästhetischen Erscheinung im Vordergrund. Vielmehr geht es darum, die biologischen Voraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche Implantatversorgung zu schaffen. Ohne die Maßnahmen einer Ridge Preservation beginnt die Resorption des Alveolarknochens, was zum Verlust von Volumen und Dichte führt.

Diese Knochenresorption kann künftige Implantationen erschweren, wobei zusätzliche Eingriffe zur Knochenaugmentation erforderlich werden, sich die Behandlungsdauer verlängert und suboptimale Ergebnisse möglich sind.1–6

Ohne Ridge Preservation

Die Resorptionsprozesse nach einer Zahnextraktion sind in den letzten Jahren umfassend erforscht worden. Klinische Studien haben gezeigt:

  • Der Volumenverlust des Alveolarkamms nach einer Zahnextraktion ist stark ausgeprägt1-5,7,8

  • Zwei Drittel der Resorption findet innerhalb der ersten drei Monate statt1

Zu den daraus folgenden klinischen Auswirkungen der Spontanheilung im Vergleich zur Ridge Preservation gehören:

  • Eingeschränkte Fähigkeit, gesundes periimplantäres Weichgewebe zu erhalten 9

  • Schlechtere ästhetische Ergebnisse9

  • Ein zehnfacher Anstieg des Bedarfs an Hartgewebe-Augmentationen bei der Implantation ohne vorherige Ridge Preservation 6

Mit Ridge Preservation

Während eine Sofortimplantation eine Knochenresorption nicht verhindert10, kann eine Behandlung der Extraktionsalveolen mit Geistlich Biomaterialien den Großteil des Knochenverlusts kompensieren und helfen, die Kontur des Alveolarkamms zu erhalten.5,7,8,11

Klinische Studien bestätigen, dass die Ridge Preservation den Verlust des Alveolarkammvolumens wirkungsvoll begrenzt:6-9,12-15

  • verhindert Volumenverlust und führt unabhängig vom gewählten Implantationszeitpunkt zu einer verbesserten Hart- und Weichgewebesituation16
  • Auch wenn das Behandlungsziel das Einsetzen einer Brücke ist, verbessert sich das ästhetische Ergebnis durch den Erhalt von Volumen und Kontur des Alveolarkamms 17

Ridge Preservation mit Geistlich Biomaterialien:
Eine verlässliche Methode

Die Kieferkammbreite bleibt bei Verwendung von Geistlich Biomaterials vier Monate nach Zahnextraktion weitgehend erhalten und ist auch nach zehn Jahren stabil,18 während die Spontanheilung zu einem Verlust von 50 % des Alveolarknochenvolumens innerhalb von sechs Monaten führen kann.7,19,20 

Ohne ein resorptionsstabiles Knochenersatzmaterial kollabieren die bukkalen und labialen Weichgewebe. Ausschließlich aus Kollagen bestehende Plugs alleine können den Knochen nicht erhalten.4,21

Geistlich Mucograft® Seal

Geistlich Mucograft® Seal ist eine gebrauchsfertige Kollagenmatrix mit in praktischem rundem Zuschnitt, die eine Alternative zu autologen freien Schleimhauttransplantaten bietet.25

Geistlich Mucograft® Seal kann in Kombination mit Geistlich Bio-Oss® Collagen während der Ridge Preservation verwendet werden.18,32,33
