Simplifying Ridge Preservation Procedures
Geistlich Mucograft® Seal was designed with user-friendly handling in mind.
The matrix is strong enough for the open healing approach, which streamlines the treatment and is also less invasive as it does not need flap elevation. This makes Ridge Preservation easier than with other matrices.
Ready To Use
No need for harvesting tissue from the palate. No soaking in saline solution. Geistlich Mucograft® Seal is ready to use out of the box.
Two Convenient Sizes
Geistlich Mucograft® Seal comes in two convenient sizes:
8 mm for small extraction sockets, e.g. in the anterior
12 mm for larger extraction sockets, e.g. in the posterior
Applicable in Dry Stage
After De-epitheliazation of adjacent soft-tissue margins, Geistlich Mucograft® Seal is best used in a dry stage with the compact layer on top.
Flapless With Open Healing
Geistlich Mucograft® Seal is used in an open healing approach. It is placed on top of the filled extraction socket and left exposed and sutured in with single interrupted sutures.
Open healing has major advantages compared to submerged healing, which other products might need:
- No flap elevation or mobilization needed, making it less invasive for the patient.
- No movement of the mucogingival line, which means better esthetic outcomes.
Please note: after a few days a layer of fibrin is visible on top of the matrix. This is a natural part of the healing process. The fibrin layer will disappear and reveal the first layer of the newly formed soft tissue.
Optimal Soft Tissue Healing
Geistlich Mucograft® Seal seals the socket and stabilizes the blood clot underneath. With its spongeous structure, it allows the soft tissue to heal quickly and allows for fast vascularization, which provides blood to the bone graft underneath. This offers optimal soft tissue conditions for esthetic dental implant placement.
