Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine continues to affect everyday life. Some time ago, we informed that the Geistlich is investing in two targeted projects to help alleviate the need on site. One of these was the CAS Rebuild Ukraine continuing education program at the Bern University of Applied Sciences, which aimed to provide new professional opportunities for displaced Ukrainian women. The program was successfully completed with a certificate ceremony in Biel.
Last week, the second project also reached completion. Geistlich's donation to the Olena Uhryn Foundation made it possible to renovate the early childhood department at the Children's Hospital in Lviv. The department cares for more than 1,000 children between the ages of 0 and 3 each year. Covering an area of 730 m², it provides space for 18 children together with one accompanying parent.
A sign of hope and confidence
Dr. Andreas Geistlich, Chairman of the Board of Directors, travelled to Lviv to attend the opening together with Olena Uhryn, Managing Director of MMPlus. MMPlus has been the distributor of Geistlich in Ukraine since 2003. Andreas Geistlich expressed his gratitude to everyone involved, especially the Uhryn family, who closely accompanied the project on site and to the hospital management. “With our donation, we wish to send a message of hope and confidence,” he said. During an extended tour, guests gained a powerful impression of how surgical and psychological care services in Lviv are currently being expanded.
The Olena Uhryn Foundation was established by MM Dental Implant Center and MMPlus. The founder of the center is Dr. Myron Uhryn, a leading figure in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Ukraine.
The renovation of the early childhood department contributes significantly to improving healthcare provision in the region. Geistlich remains committed to supporting projects that provide stability and perspective in difficult times.
